Governance
We are a non-governmental organisation registered as a non-profit organisation (002-775-NPO) concerned with the betterment of society and in particular children. We act in the public interest, for the promotion of the social welfare, development, care and protection of vulnerable children.
 
Child Welfare Bloemfontein & Childline Free State is affiliated to two National bodies - Child Welfare South Africa & Childline South Africa.

We are registered as a Public Benefit Organisation (PBO number 18/11/13/681) in terms of section 30 of the Income Tax Act. Donations to the organisation are tax deductible in terms of section 18A and subject to the limitations prescribed in the Act.
 
Child Welfare Bloemfontein & Childline Free State, is a specialist in the field of social and community development, specifically with regards to Socio-Economic and Enterprise Development. Child Welfare Bloemfontein & Childline Free State is governed by a Board. The Board of Governance consists of members duly elected to serve on the board for three years at the annual AGM. The Board strives to be representative of the South African demography in terms of race, gender, religion etc.
Our constitution was reviewed in August 2015 in order to contribute to effective and efficient leadership and decision-making. The composition, roles and powers of governance, management and sub-committees /working groups are clarified in this document.

Child Welfare Bloemfontein & Childline Free State is governed by a Board. The Board of Governance consists of members duly elected at the AGM and serve on the Board for three years. Our AGM is scheduled for August (six months after our financial year end). The AGM is open to all staff members, board members and the public.
