To all the players and sponsors, especially Beyerskloof & Philip Jansen & Associates , who made this day possible, thank you.
We would like to say thank you to each and very sponsor and volunteer who made this year’s Nelson Mandela Day such a big success. Thank you for keeping the Madiba spirit alive and bringing a smile to the children’s faces.
During Child Protection week (28 May – 4 June 2017) the Childline team visited Reseamohetse, Tjnebelopele and Matla Primary schools with a puppet show about Child abuse and the availability of much needed services for victims of sexual abuse, rape & physical abuse at the Tshepong Thuthuzela Care Centre.
Our puppet theatre is also always ready to help educate children in important topics, topics such as reporting abuse.
With this year’s theme “Let us all protect Children to move South Africa Forward” the fact that child protection is everybody’s job was again highlighted. Together with ITEC we launched our Child Protection week activities on 31 May 2017.
Thank you to ITEC and Mr. Valentine Rantsoareng (ITEC Director. Pictured with our director Mariétha Johnson), the Child Welfare Bloemfontein & Childine Free State official ambassador of Child Protection week.
Bullying takes many different forms (verbal, social, physical and, especially nowadays cyber bullying) which makes dealing with this issue even harder.
Our bully talks hope to encourage children to SPEAK UP, whether they are the bully the victim or the bystander.
Because we know that the bully also has a hurt that needs healing we also have booklets to help educators, parents, etc. to deal with this problem available.
